Pinakates is a small, protected mountain village on the Pelion peninsula that starts at Volos in Central Greece. The village lies at 600 meters of altitude and has a magnificent view on the mountain and the bay of Volos, the Pagasetic Gulf.
Because of this location the village has 4 seasons , is embedded in the lush green environment of the Pelion mountain and it still represents the old way of living in an isolated village. You can reach it via a new road from Volos.
The distance to the city is about 25km. The motorway from Volos gives a direct connection to Athens (350km) or Thessaloniki (250km). In summertime there are also direct flights to Volos.
In total there are 4 free-standing houses (2 completed and sold, one completed and one concept) with a magnificent view on the mountain and the sea. Each house has 120m² living area and 20m² separate storage room. All the houses have a different style and are based upon existing old, typical houses from the region. Each house is situated on approx. 400m² of land and you can reach them on foot via a path from the square or by car via a new road that goes to the orchards behind the site.
For the finishing we use only traditional materials, chestnut windows and doors, walls from local stone, heavy roof slates, wooden ceilings, natural stone on the ground floor and wooden floors on the first level, iron bars on the lower level windows and traditional shutters on the upper level. Furthermore they are equipped with all modern comfort, central heating, kitchen,2 bathrooms, toilets, fire place. Only high quality materials are used.
You buy the house directly from us, the owners. We are a Belgian couple living already 20 years in Pinakates and in this period we restored 10 houses, including our own and the B&B we are running. You can use our extensive experience and we will guarantee you an impeccable finishing. Both for Greek people and for foreigners, Pelion is an attractive region for a second home because of its lush environment, the combination of mountains and beaches and the very typical architecture of the houses.
An investment in real estate here is stable in value. Pinakates, finally, is special because it remained terra incognita until recently and kept its own atmosphere.
