The Village of Pinakates

Pinakates is considered to be one of the most authentic villages of the 24 villages in Pilion and is a category one protected landmark. It houses an exceptional number of historic mansions with many of them being restored over the last decade.  The village has only around 100 inhabitants which creates an oasis of silence and peace.

The village is so well preserved because until recently it was only accessible via a narrow road which ended in the center of the village. All the other roads were only passable on foot or by mule.

In 1973 the village was connected to the electricity grid which was followed a few years later with a regular bus connection with Volos.
